The City of Charles Town currently has one vacant seat serving as one of five Directors of the Charles Town Utility Board (CTUB). This vacant seat is available to any resident residing in the CTUB former Public Service District wishing to serve their community. The rate schedule for the former PSD District is attached to provide more detail so that interested candidates may compare their current rates to the PSD rate schedule currently in place.
The Board manages and maintains an extensive water and sanitary sewer system serving the greater Charles Town region. The Board has full and complete authority for the supervision, management, control, and operation of the system, including the maintenance, operations, improvements and extensions thereof. Meetings of the Board are typically held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 4:00 pm. Meetings are generally held at 661 S. George Street, Charles Town. The chosen candidate will serve a four-year term commencing from the time of appointment.
Interested individuals should provide a letter of interest and resume highlighting the individual’s relevant experience and background. Individuals considered for the position(s) may be asked to provide additional information and/or be asked to attend a City Council meeting. An ideal candidate will have served on a municipal or similar governmental board or commission. Candidates without prior experience, however, are still encouraged to apply for consideration.
