Charles Town Utility Board – Opportunity to Serve

The City of Charles Town, WV has an opening on its Utility Board for a term ending December 31, 2025.

The Charles Town Utility Board provides policy direction and oversight to staff operating the City’s combined waterworks and sewerage system.  Board meetings are generally held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.  The meetings begin at 4:00 pm and are held at 661 S. George Street, Charles Town. 

-For this position, Council is encouraged to consider an individual with a professional background and/or experience in water and/or sewer utilities that will benefit the Board.

-Such background or experience may include but is not limited to engineering with a background in water and/or sewer utilities, land development, construction, accounting, legal, or environmental protection.

-Interested applicants without the noted background and/or experience may still be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Qualified applicants must submit an application form (available at www.charlestownwv.us; drop down menu – Government – Committees, Commissions, and Boards) and any other supporting materials that demonstrate their qualifications to serve. 

Materials should be submitted to Daryl Hennessy at dhennessy@charlestownwv.us.  A hard copy may also be mailed or delivered to his attention at Charles Town City Hall, 101 E. Washington Street, Charles Town, WV 25414.  The initial deadline for submitting application materials is December 14, 2021.  This position is open until filled with first consideration of applicants planned for the Charles Town City Council meeting on December 20, 2021 at 7:00 pm.  Applicants are encouraged to attend this meeting.
